IHC RSPP Surgeons Strengthen Global Healthcare Connections at the 2024 West Lake Conference in Hangzhou, China on November 15-16, 2024
Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina (RSPP) is committed to providing world-class healthcare, and that commitment extends beyond Indonesia`s borders. Recently, two of RSPP`s distinguished digestive surgeons, dr. Rosmali Adriansyah, SpB-KBD and dr. Aurizan Karim, SpB, had the opportunity to participate in the prestigious 2024 West Lake Conference for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Hangzhou, China. This enriching experience was made possible thanks to RSPP`s membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network, first in Indonesia, and the generous support of Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital (SRRSH), also the first Mayo Clinic Care Network member in China, affiliated under Zhejiang University College of Medicine.
A Platform for Collaboration and Innovation
Held from November 15-16, the 2024 West Lake Conference brought together leading surgeons and healthcare professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advancements in “Belt and Road” minimally invasive surgery forum. Dr. Rosmali and Dr. Aurizan actively engaged in the conference, contributing their expertise and learning from esteemed colleagues from across Asia.
Dr. Rosmali, a highly experienced digestive surgeon, joined a panel discussion with other Asian surgeon experts, sharing his insights on current issues and best practices in minimally invasive surgery. Her participation highlighted RSPP`s commitment to international collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Dr. Aurizan, a skilled general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive techniques, took advantage of the conference`s hands-on training opportunities. Both dr. Rosmali and dr. Aurizan participated in laparoscopic dry and wet laboratory simulations, further honing his skills in this advanced surgical approach. He also explored the latest technology through a surgery robot virtual reality simulation skills training.
The Power of the Mayo Clinic Care Netwok
RSPP`s membership in the Mayo Clinic Care Network played a crucial role in facilitating this valuable experience. SRRSH, a Mayo Clinic Care Netwok member for seven years, generously sponsored Dr. Rosmali and Dr. Aurizan`s attendance, exemplifying the network`s commitment to collaboration and knowledge exchange among its members.
"We are incredibly honored and proud to have had this opportunity," said dr. Aurizan. "The West Lake Conference provided a platform for our surgeons to connect with international experts, learn about cutting-edge techniques, and contribute to the advancement of minimally invasive surgery. This experience will undoubtedly benefit our patients and enhance the quality of care we provide at RSPP."
A Collaborative Effort
RSPP extends its sincere gratitude to Ms. Amy Wang, Program Manager of the Center for International Collaboration at Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital, for her invaluable assistance in coordinating the visit and ensuring a seamless and productive experience for Dr. Rosmali and Dr. Aurizan. We also appreciate the support of the Mayo Clinic Team in the Asia Pacific region, particularly Royston Lek and Susan Xu, for their ongoing commitment to fostering collaboration within the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
Looking Ahead
RSPP`s participation in the 2024 West Lake Conference underscores its dedication to continuous learning, innovation, and global collaboration in healthcare. By investing in the professional development of its medical staff and actively engaging with leading institutions worldwide, RSPP continues to strengthen its position as a provider of world-class medical care.
