IHC RSPP Marks 1 Year of Collaboration with Mayo Clinic through International Symposium

Jakarta, September 26, 2024 - Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina (RSPP), one of the hospitals under PT Pertamina Bina Medika IHC (IHC), reaffirms its commitment to providing international-standard healthcare services. RSPP is holding an international symposium with the theme "Frontiers in Breast Disease, Hematology and Heart Failure Management: A Symposium on Excellence" on Sept. 26 and 27, 2024. This two-day event will be held in a hybrid format at the Grand Hyatt Hotel Jakarta, and invites experts from Mayo Clinic and other renowned institutions.

This symposium marks one year of collaboration between IHC RSPP and Mayo Clinic, after RSPP officially became the first member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network (MCCN) in Indonesia in 2023. This membership is a major achievement and confers on RSPP a responsibility to maintain international standards in medical services, and to be a catalyst for continuous improvement, innovation and health research.

Experts from Mayo Clinic will be present at this symposium to share the latest insights and best practices in the management of breast disease, hematology, and heart failure, which are the focus of this year`s symposium. Some of the leading experts participating are James W. Jakub, M.D., who will discuss breast cancer surgical oncology, Saranya Chumsuri, M.D., who will present at the breast cancer medical oncology session, Sikander Ailawadhi, M.D., who will speak on the topic of hematology medical oncology, and Robert P. Frantz, M.D., who will discuss heart failure.

The Director of RSPP, dr. Neny Herawati, MKKK, emphasized the importance of this symposium in improving understanding and clinical practice in Indonesia. "Through this symposium, we hope to gain valuable insights on the latest advancements in the management of breast disease, hematology and heart failure. This is part of RSPP`s commitment to continue to provide international-standard healthcare services that prioritize patient safety," said dr. Neny.

Similarly, dr. Lia Partakusuma, as Acting President Director of IHC, conveyed that this international symposium is concrete evidence of IHC`s commitment as a BUMN Hospital holding to improve the quality of health services in Indonesia.

This not only strengthens RSPP`s reputation as a national medical referral center but also positions IHC as a driving force for innovation in health services in Indonesia," she explained.

This symposium is also in line with the Center of Excellence (COE) focus implemented at RSPP, namely CardioNeuroEndoVascular and Breast Cancer. The increasing trend of breast cancer cases and prevalence is the strategic basis for the collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, and the main focus of this symposium.

It is hoped that through this activity, RSPP will become increasingly known as a referral center with quality services of international standards, which continues to strengthen the global professional network and improve the quality of health services in Indonesia.
